Overview
Turkey straddles two continents and offers two completely different experiences in a single trip — Istanbul's Byzantine domes and bustling Grand Bazaar on one end, and Cappadocia's lunar fairy-chimney landscape blanketed in hot-air balloons at dawn on the other. The two cities are an hour apart by domestic flight (bookable independently).
Best Time
April–June and September–October offer mild weather, fewer crowds, and reliable hot-air balloon flights in Cappadocia. Summers (July-August) are hot but ballooning is still operational. Winter (Dec-Feb) brings snow-dusted fairy chimneys — magical for photos, colder for travel.
